Morning Skincare Routine

For the past two weeks my class has been in the esthetician department, and you know what that means! New skincare routine. I found out that every product I was using was stripping my skin and terrible for my skin. I was using the Saint Ives Apricot scrub because I loved how soft it made my skin, when I asked my teacher what she thought of that product she said that because of the way the apricots are processed they have rough edges and are tearing microscopic tears in my skin, so, obviously I changed some things!

MY MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE

  • Trader Joes Face wash with tea tree oil
  • Thayers original witch hazel
  • Eucerin everyday protection SPF30
  • Alba Un-petroleum jelly
So I start off with luke-warm water, I take one pump of the cleanser and a little water in my hands and mix them together to emulsify them (the fancy way of saying make it all foamy) and cleanse my face like this twice, and pat dry. Then on a cotton round I pour some of the witch hazel and rub that into my face. Then I follow up with the moisturizer. I always make sure that when I choose a moisturizer it has an SPF of at least 15, this will give you enough protection in winter, for summer you want at least SPF 30. If my skin is feeling really dry I'll take a tiny tiny amount of  the un-petroleum jelly and rub it in, but this stuff is pretty heavy so if you break out easily I wouldn't recommend using the un-petroleum jelly.
